Our mission and objectives
 19. února 2005, Editors

The society was founded in May 2001 in connection with constantly increasing number of abandoned cats suffering from hunger and illnesses, dysfunction of state administration and lack of helpful members of municipal boards who solve this problems by evading it, bans and repressions and also by increase of cruel torture and killing cats and making impossible in practice to exact the effective sanction of offenders and responsible persons.
We are nationwide edifying organization bent on increasing of ethic human relation to the cats and the animals generally, currently we associate memberships and deposits for abandoned cats care in Prague and also in countryside, e.g. in Hodonín, Bukovany, Brno, Znojmo, Valašské Meziříčí, Příbor, Choceň, Vimperk, Most, Láz u Příbrami and other cities. We act up to the motto „Help locally, think globally!“
Our mission and goal is above all an edification of general public that leads to the increase of responsibility and cat care and especially to intensify preventive and legislative measures in order to stop the cat torture, uncontrolled multiplication and thereby a misery of increased number of cat population and cruelties committed to cats. Another goal is to carry an education of Respect for life and integrate it into the primary schools curriculum and to propose a change of Czech constitution, namely the extension of article 7/ The State shall attend to a prudent utilization of natural resources and to protection of natural wealth… by an amendment: and to an animal right to considerate treatment and dignified existence.*
We issue edifying leaflets and publications about cats, we provide continually with general information of cat care and health and law service to the citizens by telephone and e-mail, we arrange edifying actions (autographs actions, introductions of new books with animal themes, celebrations of Homeless Animals Day, World Animals Day, etc.), we run a campaign for effective protection of animals from torture and for improvement of legislation for animals protection (download of the form onwww.kockaapravo.cz in section „Petitions and leaflets to download“), we organize a public gathering to the benefit of abandoned animals in Lebanon hit by war (download of the press release and the leaflet on www.kockaapravo.cz in section „Announcements“) and we look for and gather the financial resources for functioning of our deposits.
We still search and propose the ways how to ethically, economically and effectively decrease the population of errant and unwanted cats: in 2004 we proposed a project of mobile veterinary surgeries which would sterilize cats directly in terrain for free or very cheaply, but up to now the project did not receive any support from main animal protection authorities in Czech Republic. This year we introduced the project of so called refugiums – protected stations of Dr. Dvořák for castrated inadaptable cats (description is on www.kockaapravo.cz in section „About us“ – Report of deposits activity + Project). Project was presented in television programme Chcete mě? on 21st October 2006 on ČT1 television station and also adviced at the meeting with mayor MUDr. Pavel Bém on 14th October 2006 (Meeting report is on www.kockaapravo.cz/oznameni-clanek.php?id=51).
The memberships of our Society monitor the appearance of abandoned cats colonies and communicate it with municipal councils in their cities and villages. Through small deposits the members care for abandoned cats in their area, domesticated ones are after castration and vaccination offered to interested persons through advertising, non-domesticated ones are after castration returned back to the origin area and feed additionally.
At the same time the memberships spread edification in connection with decreasing the abandoned cats population by castrations and increasing ethics of animals treatment at all by leaflets and information in local media, chats with citizens and mayors. Besides they help poor and older persons with catching, castrations and care for abandoned cats.
Society tries to gain the financial resources through grants and donations from kind people who sympathize with undeserved suffering and often maltreated animals. However thanks to the irresponsibility of many people and dysfunction of state administration the number of abandoned cats constantly increase while our financial capacity is mostly dependent on our own personal resources which unfortunately is not enough.
Therefore we ask all sympathetic people for financial or material support (e.g. food, litter, veterinary resources, office supplies etc.). Material and finacial donations over 1.000 CZK per year are tax deductible items! Financial contributions delivered by post we confirm immediately or automatically to 31st December. Financial contributions remitted to our transparent account in eBanka Prague 1 www.ebanka.cz/tran_uct/756098001.html we can not confirm because eBanka does not share their addresses. So we ask possible donors to tell us their addresses by post or e-mail in order to deliver them the confirmation.
We also ask the volunteers for help, the people who would like to help but do not want to become a member of our organization.
    We thank for obligingness.
